Watch your back, Amazon: Target's coming for you with a major one-day sale on July 17 — right in the middle of Amazon Prime Day.
Target will have tons of items from makeup to furniture on sale for everyone (read: no membership required) to shop online. But if you're a parent, take note: You'll be able to score some major deals on children's toys and school supplies in particular. So not only can you check everything off that back-to-school shopping list, it's the perfect time to get a head start on your holiday shopping.
Starting today, certain toys are currently up to 50% off online at Target, and more top toy brands will be on sale starting tomorrow. As for school supplies, everything from pens and pencils to backpacks and lunch boxes will be on sale.
Oh, and just when you thought it couldn't get any better: Teachers get 15% off school supplies (including classroom storage supplies, tissues, and hand sanitizer) at Target all week long. According to a National Center for Education Statistics study, 94% of teachers buy supplies with their own money, so Target is here to make things a little easier for them. So why is Target having these crazy Black Friday-level sales in the middle of July? Well, they're trying to compete with Amazon Prime Day, which runs from 3 p.m. EST on Monday, July 16 through 3 a.m. EST on Wednesday, July 18 — and Target isn't the only store having a huge sale this week.
