For the first time in 37 years, the Victorian house in London that helped inspired Dodie Smith's 101 Dalmatians (which Disney adapted into the hit animated film), is on the market for £8.95 million, which is about $11.175 million.
Located directly across from Primrose Hill park, the pink house on Albert Terrace was built in 1847. Smith, who lived nearby in Dorset Square, used to take her Dalmatians for walks around the home's Regent's Park neighborhood. The 4,876-square-foot, five-story home features eight bedrooms and four bathrooms. Much like the home in 101 Dalmatians, the home is semi-detached with white stone detailing, sash windows, and a pillared entrance portico with glass paneled front door.
The entrance hall leads to the ground floor rooms (the drawing room and two bedrooms) and a kitchenette. On the first floor, the main reception room connects with a dining room and open plan family kitchen. The second floor features a bedroom suite with an ensuite bathroom and a study. The character Roger in the Disney movie has a similar study where he plays the piano and sings about Cruella de Vil. On the top floor are two bedrooms, one of which has an ensuite bathroom, and a rooftop terrace overlooking Primrose Hill. Other key features of the home? It has spacious front and rear gardens as well as windows that bring in lots of natural light and offer panoramic views of the gorgeous neighborhood.
