One of our favorite things about food is that we're constantly learning new things about it every day. Whether that's how to perfectly cut a cake or discovering cotton candy grapes, we're never sure what's around the next culinary corner. The newest, and arguably the most beautiful, food to garner attention online is "glass gem" corn that looks like it's been kissed by a rainbow.

Developed by farmer, Carl Barnes, in Oklahoma, the all-natural vegetable is the product of crossing different traditional strains of seeds called Pawnee and Osage heirloom varieties. The bright vegetable is so stunning that it even has its own Facebook page dedicated to photos of users' best harvests.

The kernels are brilliantly tinted, but don't expect to pop them into a technicolor bowl for your next movie night. The pigment is part of the pericarp, the part that gets stuck in your teeth, while the starch that expands is plain white.
