It's true what they say: Life really does imitate art. Or, at least that's the case with E. L. James' new home. The author of the popular Fifty Shades trilogy just purchased an ultra-modern mansion in Los Angeles for $7.25 million. It gives us serious flashbacks to the sleek penthouse owned by her iconic character, Christian Grey.

For starters, James' new home is quite spacious, coming in at 5,616 square-feet. It also boasts five bedrooms and seven bathrooms — allowing plenty of space for overnight guests. When it comes to amenities, there's all the expected high-tech kitchen essentials, along with a walk-in chilled wine room and a media lounge with a wet bar and fireplace. Outside there's even an infinity pool and hot tub for daytime or nighttime dips.

The master bedroom is the real crown jewel (like we said, Grey would approve). The home is located on a ridge that overlooks the entire city and offers views of the ocean and islands, and this suite comes with the best views in the house. Plus, floor-to-ceiling windows open up to a terrace that basically screams "romantic champagne nightcap." Or maybe that's just us ...
